CardoVerde provides technical and financial support to initiatives, schools and families in Latin America and Africa to help them establish agroforestry-based agriculture without the use of synthetic fertilisers and pesticides. The aim is to ensure healthy nutrition and a sustainable income for local people, as well as to make an effective contribution to combating climate change.
Our work
Through regular trips to the project areas, we provide direct support to existing initiatives in the practical implementation of their work in the cultivation area. We also advise on the purchase of suitable technical aids and equipment.
The main goal of the projects we support is sustainable and ecologically oriented agriculture based on agroforestry principles. The accumulation of organic material in the soil and the availability of seeds and seedlings play a decisive role in this.
The projects supported by CardoVerde are mainly located in the humid tropics of Latin America. Other projects are based in East Africa, where conditions are rather dry. In most cases, schools with their own agricultural land are involved.
CardoVerde Foundation wants to support people in the Global South in becoming permanently independent of external aid through expertise, training and cooperation. In doing so, we attach great importance to the protection of nature, animal welfare and the rights of girls and women.
In this section, you will find further information on agroforestry and soil fertility, as well as sources for seeds and seedlings. The contacts listed here also offer a good opportunity for networking.
